Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (ZIE) is calling on all our engineers to participate in the National Tree Planting Day tomorrow. The National Tree Planting Day is the Forestry Commission’s flagship campaign. This is a day that is commemorated every year on the first Saturday of December and is set aside to motivate the Nation to plant and conserve trees, to enlighten the nation on the importance of forest and woodland resources, to enhance biodiversity, to enhance household food security and to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

As ZIE we are calling on all Engineers in and around Harare to collect a tree or trees out of the one hundred and fifty (150) trees we have at Conquenar House, Harare. Trees are the most important aspect of a healthy environment, having this National day where we invite all those in the Engineering fraternity to come together to plant and pay homage to these giant leafy towers in our homes, forests, streets and parks. This is a great starting point to chat about the importance of taking care of our environment.

As part of our contribution, ZIE wants to motivate all its members and the Nation at large to plant and conserve trees, to enlighten the Nation on the importance of environment, plants, forests and woodland resources, to enhance biodiversity and to enhance household food security.

For those who want to participate and contribute please do not hesitate to contact us.
